DI SANTO WANTS TO CONTINUE

Former Chelsea striker Franco di Santo has said that Wigan Athletic should not be allowing their current form slip away. Franco di Santo scored a wonder goal against Newcastle in the 4-0 win for the club.

Even though this was only his fifth goal of the season, Wigan manager Roberto Martinez has always praised the contribution of di Santo to the team. The Argentine is someone who works selfless for the team according to Roberto Martinez.

He was once again at the forefront of Wigan’s most famous victory of recent times against Arsenal. Following the 2-1 defeat of Arsenal, Wigan have now become the first team since Southampton back in 2001 to beat both Manchester United and Arsenal in back-to-back matches.

As a result of the impressive form that the club has shown in recent weeks, Wigan look to comfortably award relegation this time around. Each season, Wigan go into the Christmas down near the bottom of the table, but find magic in the final few weeks of the campaign to get themselves out of the trouble. It seems to be the same case once again, but in a much better manner. Wigan fans will certainly remember their club defeating Manchester United, Liverpool, and Arsenal all in one season for a long time.

“We’ve given ourselves some breathing space at the bottom, but it’s not over yet. Three wins would be enough, maybe less, but we don’t want to let our standards slip now. The way we’ve played in recent weeks, and the teams we’ve beaten, we’re good enough to finish with four wins. It was great to score but it’s all about the three points – that’s the only thing that matters,” Franco di Santo said after the Arsenal victory. The Argentine also called for concentration in the remaining matches for the club.
