David Beckham says that the Spanish club should keep their faith in Carlo Ancelotti

Former Real Madrid midfielder and England legend David Beckham says that the Spanish club should keep their faith in manager Carlo Ancelotti despite a poor run of results.

It has been suggested that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez could decide upon sacking Ancelotti after seeing the result of the upcoming El Clasico. Madrid must win this match at all costs in order to stay in hunt for the league title, but this will not be easy since the match is at Camp Nou. There have been suggestions that Ancelotti has been too soft with the players and this has led them into taking concentration of the game.

It may be the case after all given that Madrid had a six-point advantage over Barcelona going into 2015, but this has now been reduced to a one-point deficit.

Admittedly, Barcelona’s form has improved significantly during this period but Madrid have also been equally bad. Beckham, though, says that Ancelotti is a manager who has been used to such bouts of poor form and that he has always found a way back. The former AC Milan loan star played under Ancelotti at PSG and he reckons that the Italian is one of the best managers he has ever worked with.

“Is he the right man for the job? For me he is. Because he knows how to get respect out of the players, he knows how to get the best out of the players – and the players respect him, as does everybody in the football world. To see the success he has already had at Real Madrid for me is incredible and not surprising. I look at him as a person and as a manager – as a person, you can’t get any better and as a manager, the same. He’s one of the best,” said Beckham.
